Bugs

I’ve had the C40 for about 6 weeks now. In that time, the system has all-out crashed (screen went haywire and I had to YouTube how to restart it), has had issues with the sound not playing (any format) twice, had the A/C unavailable once (grayed out- had to restart the system) and today, the A/C began blowing warm air 10 minutes after starting ok.

Aside from those issues, I completely love the ride! I love the fact that it is an EV, saving me from the gas station. I do wish the charging network was more robust here but I can charge at home so that isn’t a big issue yet.

I’ve been hopeful that the bugs might be worked out with software updates; but the A/C issue - I live in the Deep South - may be the thing that makes me throw in the towel. Anyone else having a ton of bugs?

Hi Tracie! After the recent (July 2022) Apple CarPlay download, my 2022 C40 locked me out of the car on a 100+ degree Fahrenheit day! Fortunately, I was under a bridge and in the shade so I didn't bake while stranded outside of my own car. It would not recognize the key fob or allow control via the Volvo Cars App at all. I called Volvo using the phone number provided within the app, and they talked me through using the manual key inside the fob to get into the car. The car was inoperable unless the key fob was placed inside the center console in a very specific spot that Volvo told me about while I had them on the phone. My local Volvo dealership said it was a software issue and fixed it, but just yesterday (8/05/22) I started having issues with the sound from Amazon Music being stuck in "loading" mode and not playing. I powered the vehicle off today and will turn it on tomorrow to see what happens. Maybe a good reboot will help. I agree with you 100% -- love the ride, love the car, wish the charging network in southeastern CT was more robust, hope they can work out these bugs -- and I hope I never see that AC issue that you had! What did they say if/when you took it in? Have you had any more issues with it?

Hey @CeCeTJ are you still having issues with your Amazon Music? Or did that get fixed when you turned your C40 off/on?

Have you taken your car in to get the AC looked at @Tracie? Is the issue still happening?

Hi @EVolvo -- Amazon Music is back up and running fine now. I shut the car down for a couple of days and upon starting it back up just now it is working fine! (y)

Glad to hear it @CeCeTJ! Is everything else working fine with your car?

I am having a problem with my xc40 hybrid where the a/c will blow warm air a couple of times within a week and when it’s blowing warm air, I just need to restart it and it will be fine. Sent to the service center a couple of times, they check the refrigerant a few times, yet still cannot resolve this issue. They said system shows no error during diagnosis. Anyone has any idea what is this about?
