11/20/22: My brand new 2022 C40 located in Nashua NH will not take a charge at home on garage 220V wall outlet. No issue on fast DC charger. I've got an appt at the local dealership for 11/28/22 (earliest I could get). When I plug into our garage wall 220V outlet with charging cable the charging cable ring is flashing white (good). Plug cable into charging input socket and it is green (good); it begins to charge (with ring on charging cable at wall socket flashing white and charging socket green) and as soon as the cabin lights go off the ring on the cable at the wall socket turns red and the input socket light turns off; console gives error message and says to try reconnecting. Open the door, cabin lights go on, and it starts initiating charging again. The same thing happens if I lock the car - the charging stops. Battery at 23% and it is 45 degrees in the garage. Current amps set at 48 and charging limit set to 80%. Any idea on what's going on?

That really seems like a voltage drop or similar issue. I had the same problem with an outlet that couldn't provide 2.3 kw without a significant voltage drop. It seems the Volvo provided charger has some extra protection, as my dad's Prius charger works fine using the same outlet (also 2.3 kw).

Thanks for your insight! Could that be the issue, even if I've been charging on this very same 220V outlet in my garage for the past 5 months without a problem until now?

Just an update to this issue I was having with not being able to get the C40 to take a charge: the dealer gave me a new charging cable and the C40 is taking a charge like a champ again. No issues! Interesting that the new cable is about a foot shorter, smaller diameter, and lighter weight.
